This remodel encompassed all interior and
exterior areas of a large 1980's custom home, set dramatically in
the rolling hills near Mt. Diablo. The substantial qualities of the house
were enhanced and the imitation detailing was removed. By
introducing authentic materials and finishes throughout the house and
landscape, the quality of the home was elevated to the level it had only
aspired to previously. Artistry, craftsmanship and detail brought new
integrity and beauty to the residence.
Interior
Typical "before" conditions
All
faux decorations and fixtures were removed from the house. New marble,
granite, and soapstone were combined with cherry, maple and mahogany to
bring depth and integrity to the furnishings and the rooms.
The
kitchen cabinets were designed as furniture. Cherry, maple and glazed finishes vary to
create a feeling that the pieces were collected over the years and
assembled here. The granite countertops unify the cabinets into one working kitchen.
