The Blackberry Bistro:
|
a new cafe in
Oakland
|
|
In a collaboration between Lavenson Design and the artful owners of this
new restaurant, an interior scheme was developed with alternating planes of color, texture and reflection.
The elements were
inserted with vitality into the existing building shell and revealed through
the windows to invite the public inside. |

This neighborhood cafe brought a
commercial street corner back to life in the Glenview District of Oakland.
The new Blackberry Bistro restaurant expressed the vibrancy of the
community, the talent and style of the founding owner chefs (who have
since moved on), and the heartfelt offering of
great food to the neighborhood and beyond |

Stainless steel,
saturated pigments, artistic banquettes and a recycled concrete floor all set
the stage for a casual and delightful bistro.

After the restaurant's initial
success, a design scheme was developed to increase customer seating and
'back of the house' areas by potentially expanding into the adjacent
commercial tenant's space. |
