An
addition was designed for the inside "L" corner of a ranch house
in the Oakland hills, Montclair neighborhood. The addition created a larger family dining area, with double french
doors to the garden, and
allowed for a new master bathroom.
The new bathroom uses glass block to let in
sunlight and shadows while preserving privacy. A sheet of tempered glass
keeps water inside the shower. It sits on top of a tiled half wall and pierces
its stainless steel support pillar. A skylight above lets more light into the room
and allows views of the sky from the shower. |
