Craftsman Style Kitchen in Alameda, CA
view toward breakfast room Three rooms in a large house c.1920 were gutted and merged to become this kitchen, family room and breakfast room.

The existing spaces were cramped and dark. The owners wanted to open the rear of the home to their wonderful yard and flower garden.

Many details were 'borrowed' from the original Craftsman style home. They were reinterpreted to bring a more contemporary sense of space and finish to the new spaces.

The french doors lead to the yard and garden.

This kitchen went on to win a "Best in American Remodeling" award from Professional Builder Magazine
