Fine Homebuilding's Kitchens & Baths, Winter 2006 The 'Design Gallery' section of this annual kitchen & bath special issue highlights a bath remodel designed by Lavenson, featuring a vaulted ceiling, dramatic skylight and carefully detailed limestone surfaces.

Diablo Magazine, August 2005  In a feature article titled "Elegance Revisited", writer J.J. Gordon describes the remodel and rehabilitation of the classic Lesher Estate for its new owners, led by Lavenson Design with a team of talented artisans.

Diablo Magazine, March 2005  In her article titled "This House Has Everything", LeeAnne Carson describes an art-filled house as remodeled successively by two architects. Kurt Lavenson transformed the house into a modernist dwelling from its dark & woody mid century roots. Ten years later another architect has remodeled the remodel and taken it further, making it a gallery for living.

arcCA, February 2005 The journal of the American Institute of Architects, California Council features an interview with Architect Kurt Lavenson for his "representatively unique" career path and his community involvement.

San Francisco Chronicle, October 2004  "Behind the Big Door", a Home & Garden section feature by Norma J. Shattuck, examines the design and approval process for residential garage conversions. The article features two Lavenson Design projects and interview commentary with Kurt Lavenson.

San Francisco Chronicle & Oakland Montclarion, 2004  Articles focusing on the renaissance of four public stairways in the Oakmore Highlands neighborhood of Oakland and the public-private cooperation required to complete the project. Pro Bono services donated by Kurt Lavenson helped the local homeowner's association work successfully with the city public works agency.

CED 100 @ 100 virtual exhibition, 2003 U.C. Berkeley College of Environmental Design exhibit of work by 100 graduates of the 100 year-old department of architecture. The web-based exhibit is intended to showcase the broad range of work being produced by graduates from the department as it celebrates the centennial event. Three Lavenson projects are displayed.

Home Workspace Idea Book, 2002. New printing of the earlier book 'At Work at Home' by Architect Neal Zimmerman, for inclusion in the expanding Taunton Press 'home ideas' collection. The book again features the Lavenson Design architectural office conversion.

Diablo Magazine, April 2002 "The Mod Squad" article by Darcy Brown-Martin, features Kurt Lavenson as one of four visionary architects bringing modern design to the East Bay suburbs. Writer, Brown-Martin dubbed Lavenson the "poet" of the group.

House & Home Magazine, March/April 2002 "Garage Chic" article by Jennifer Lisle, focuses on specialty garage conversion remodeling projects and features an interview with and commentary by Kurt Lavenson

Garage: Reinventing the Place We Park, Taunton Press 2001 By Kira Obolensky. A collection of America's best garages and adaptive designs to reuse them in creative ways. The book features the modernist style, Lavenson Design home office conversion in Alamo, CA, set in the picturesque foothills of Mt. Diablo

At Work At Home, Design Ideas for Your Home and Workplace, Taunton Press, 2001. By Architect Neal Zimmerman. Written by a professional workplace designer, this book is a collection of the best examples of home based workspaces. The Lavenson Design architecture office is featured in the book.

Converting Garages, Attics & Basements, Sunset Books, 2001  By Jeff Beneke and the Editors of Sunset Books. Case studies and planning tips for architectural conversions of living spaces. The book features the Lavenson home office conversion/cabana in Alamo, CA as a special "Case Study".

Contra Costa Times Newspaper. "One of A KInd"  December 2001. Sunday real estate feature article by Dianne Glei. Focused special recognition on the craftsmanship and artistic remodeling of an estate in Alamo, CA as remodeled by Lavenson Design.

" A New Normandy Cottage", article featuring the Johnson Residence, a custom home in the Oakland Hills. The article celebrates the modern interpretation of a classic Bay Area cottage that was destroyed by the Oakland Hills Fire of 1991.
