family room

The greenhouse space was demolished and replaced with a central family room that links the internal living spaces. Strong connections to the landscape were maintained with a large french doors to the rear yard and a bank of skylights above.

The exterior of the original house siding, windows and doors remain exposed and delineated in the new family room. The new roof structure expresses the physical connection of the disparate buildings.

bedrooms

Where the existing buildings collide with each other, interesting geometry was enhanced with color and interior windows between interior rooms. front entry
The street front elevation was rebuilt to preserve the scale of the original Craftsman bungalow.
